Ryan Rowe is from Montreal, Canada and he has lived in Chapel Hill, North Carolina since August 2010 where he works with the Water Institute at UNC and leads their knowledge management activities.

Ryan previously worked in investment banking for the Macquarie Group in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, raising 600 million US dollars for infrastructure projects in the Middle East and North Africa. He now works regularly with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and Rotary International on finding solutions to the world’s water problems and speaks about his work at public and private engagements.

Ryan obtained his Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business (Toronto, Canada) in 2006 and his Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, USA) in 2012. He also holds an undergraduate degree in finance from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He has received honours and awards for his leadership and community involvement in varying capacities.

He is active in the non-profit sector, providing advice on strategic marketing for organizations in Kenya, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates. In addition to his native English language, Ryan speaks French, Spanish, and Portuguese. He has traveled to over 50 countries including places such as China, Ethiopia, India, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, and Rwanda, and he has lived in Brazil, Colombia, Haiti, Kenya, Malawi, the Turks & Caicos Islands, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

  1. Dear Ryan, I am a past DG in Australia editing a book of readings based on the Rotary Peace Conference held in Wagga Wagga NSW September 2012. The speakers at the conference are writing chapters on the basis of their presentation. Dr John Skerritt wS TO WRITE about Food and Water security but was promoted to Canberra as Head of the Therapeutic Goods Administration. Contributors include Professow Jake Lynch, Richard Wainwright,Profesor John Braithwaite, Dr Barbara Ferguson, Jenn Weidman,Professor Rod Moodie, Dr Keith Suter, and a number of Rotary Peace Fellows (Goranka Slavujevic, Joseph HongoLisa Craig.
